Abstract
The article deals with the autobiography origin in the works of A.I. Herzen expressed in the forms of the narration, subject organization, stylistics and the intonation of the narrative. The analysis shows the increasing complexity of the narrative structure from the early creative work to the late one by the means of the inner polyphony, created in the process of the conflict of the different points of views, and witnesses about the evolution of the author’s consciousness from the social and psychological autobiography to the historical one.
