Abstract

The article describes the methods of analysis of national identity, including a comprehensive study of the discursive and cognitive characteristics of identity formation. We believe that the analysis of identity should be based on the identity of the author. Cognitive processes have a great influence on the formation of any identity. While writing a text, the author chooses certain identification of the object based on their own personal characteristics (education, experience, professional activities, etc.). Therefore, cognitive analysis is important for understanding the formation and interpretation of identity issues. However, the discourse in which the author creates his text exerts its influence on the formation of identity of meanings. The proposed methodology is focused on the analysis of texts presented in the media discourse on the Internet. The method of analysis of national identity involves the analysis of four important parameters surrounding the utterance of the discourse, simultaneously actualized discourses, characteristics of the speaker and grounds to identify the object. A list of parameters relevant to this technique, are presented not completely, but in the amount that satisfies the purpose of this article.
