The authors carried out the study of the tubing pipes end outer upset process. The analysis of results obtained by the modeling of the technological upset process allowed to investigate influence of the value of preliminary heating temperature and heating zone length of a pipe end on the process loads and a final pipe quality. The modeling data were verified experimentally.
