Abstract

The influence of alkaline compounds in the course of blast furnace is experimentally studied. It has been shown that most of the alkali compounds comes into blast furnaces with sinter, coke ash and pellets, as the bulk of the bases of the oven comes out with the slag. The quantitative impact of increasing the yield of alkali slag down the principal final slag basicity is established. The periodicity of alkali removal with slag is defined. It has been established that it is necessary not less often than once every 4-5 days in each blast furnace to pass for 2-3 shifts to work with low basicity (CaO/SiO2) of the final slag (at 0.05-0.15 units below job routing). The proposed technology of the alkaline compounds removal is protected by RF Рatent and is being implemented at OJSC “Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works” since 2012.
