Abstract

The authors discuss how achievement motivation of the students in psychology correlates with their academic performance. Two types of achievement motivation such as adaptation motivation and transcendence motivation are analyzed. High correlation of indicators relating to transcendence motivation and those relating to intrinsic academic motives is demonstrated. The authors conclude that transcendence motivation has positive impact on personal and professional development of the students
