Due to the fact of growing in magnetite ores for the production of iron ore pellets, experiments were carried out with briquettes and with pellets from the Sokolovsky and Sarbaisk deposits (Kazakhstan) made from ores of varieties, on a sintering plant type and on a Tamman furnace in conditions close to industrial. The dependence of the metallurgical properties of the pellets on the content of silicon oxide and sulfur in concentrates is analyzed. The most important indicators of the technological and metallurgical properties of the pellets are determined. The properties of pellets from concentrates of various sizes in the recovery process were studied. The main difference between the concentrates from the ores of the Sokolovsky and Sarbaisk deposits is established, associated with a higher degree of recovery of pellets from the concentrates of the Sarbaisk deposit. The results obtained in the work are of particular interest for specialists of mining and processing enterprises dealing with the issues of obtaining pellets from magnetite ores. They also make it possible to evaluate the effect on the properties of pellets of the material composition of ores (primarily the content of silicon oxide and sulfur) and, based on this, to develop such optimal conditions for their heat treatment on conveyor-type calciners that will significantly increase their quality and reducibility in blast furnaces.
