Abstract
The article presents the analysis of the historical background of the emergence of information modeling from the concept which appeared in the 1970s to the present day. The aim of the study is to identify the prerequisites for the emergence of the method. The objective of the study is to identify the main scientific papers in the field of information modeling, which subsequently influenced the modern understanding of this method. The hypothesis of the study is that the method of information modeling had many premises among scientists and developers around the world, since it is a natural stage of development in design. Research methods are review and analysis. The main results of the article confirm the potential for the development of information modeling in modern design in view of the wide background.
