Abstract
The article examines the history of the Old Believers in Krasnoufimsk District since the XVIII century to the present day. The spread and operation of the split is considered against the background of historical events which have taken place in the Urals and in Russia in general. The author makes extensive use of pre-revolutionary periodicals and archival materials.
