Abstract
The technological process of cold drawing of copper-alloyed Pt-Ni alloys is subjected to computer simulation by the finite element method. The considered alloys have enhanced mechanical properties due to plastic deformation and subsequent annealing to order the atomic structure. The problem of stress distribution in the tool and workpiece was solved in an axisymmetric formulation on a two-dimensional computational grid. Using the created computer model, it is possible to vary the geometry of the tool, the degree of reduction of the workpiece and the speed of drawing in search of the optimal combination of process productivity and wire quality.
