Abstract
The article is devoted to studying of different approaches in the interpretation of the concept of «paradiplomacy», in defining its universal characteristics, the analysis of scientific concepts in the study of problems of participation of regions in international relations. It should be noted that this issue has always been topical among researchers. A significant contribution to the study of the phenomenon of paradiplomacy made Agger I., F. Aldecoa, I. Duchacek, N. Carnago, D. Kincaid, M. Keating, G. Craven, A. Lecour, P. Soldatos, B. Hocking. Among Russian researchers it is necessary to allocate the works I. Busygina, V. Valuev, M. Gligich-Zolotareva, T. Zonova, I. Nasyrov, M. Farukshin, V. Shilo. In this article to achieve the set goals was used as a General scientific and socio-humanitarian methods of scientific knowledge. The results of the study can be claimed, as the representatives of expert community, faculty members, graduate students, students in the study of problems of political regionalistics. Future prospects of study of this subject will involve study of external and internal factors of the international activities of the regions, determination of directions of international activity of regions and the identification of its effects.
