The author studies consumption culture in the context of modern “consumer society”. A definition of the consumption culture is provided, the main values of consumption in the modern society are presented. The author considers prospects of consumption of material and non-material objects subject referring to the future development of the society. According to the author's opinion, the main objective factor, which will have a serious impact on the consumption, is technical improvement of production, as its consequence - improvement of the society well-being and values shift - to spiritual development and value of personality.
