This article presents the research results of personal characteristics (resilience, psychological well-being, situational anxiety, locus of control) and types of coping behaviour (coping-strategies) of daughters-in-law, both of those who rate the relationship with their mother-in-law positively (n = 39), and of those who rate it negatively (n = 31). The following hypotheses were tested in this study: 1) There are differences in personality and types of coping behaviour of daughters-in-law, who rate the relationship with their mother-in-law positively, and those who rate the relationship negatively; 2) In group of daughters-in-law, who rate the relationship with their mothers-in-law positively, and in group of daughters-in-law, who rate the relationship negatively, there are differences in personal characteristics and methods of coping behaviour depending on the age and length of marriage of women. Both hypotheses were confi rmed in the framework of this study.
