Abstract

The article reveals the common problems and contradictions in medical service system in Russian rural areas. Contemporary rural area of Russia is characterized by the extremely low potential for socio-economic development, which will undoubtedly affect operating of the medical service system. At the same time, rural inhabitants have health problems, so a pressing question is the presence of any type of medical service facility in rural area. An important sphere of the medical service system in rural areas is social interaction of doctors and patients, which begins with the process of patients’ visiting in the medical service facilities. Rural inhabitants confronted with certain difficulties in receiving medical service. According to the results of sociological research in 2016-2017, the author compares the problems faced by doctors and patients of medical service facilities in Russian rural areas. During the presentation of the material, the author concludes that there are contradictions in evaluation of doctors and patients about the medical service that convincingly demonstrate their different social roles: doctors and patients have different views on the main problems. Also the author compares the results of the research in rural areas with other studies on the medical service system of Russian big cities.
