Abstract

Today many scholars consider the Soviet mass-circulation newspapers to be the main predecessor of the contemporary corporate media in Russia. However, does it sound reasonable? What are the differences and what are the similarities between those two types of media? Which experience of the Soviet “ground press” could appear to be in demand to a certain degree and which is no longer up-to date? These are the questions the author tried to answer in the following study.
