Молодежный фактор в «арабской весне»: проблемы и перспективы

The article discusses the role of the youth factor in the events of the 2010s in the countries of the southern and eastern Mediterranean region, which were the result of profound changes in the minds of Arab youth that have occurred over the past decade before the “Arab spring”. In the Arab States a new generation who combined experience in the general economic, political and social failures of the ruling regimes came to the scene. Despite the great interest in the Russian and foreign literature to the phenomenon of the “Arab Spring”, research on the role of young people in these events and, in fact, on what the youth is in the Arab world, remains insuffi cient. Comparative studies on the youth movement in the Mediterranean countries is almost absent, there is a lack of comparable data and the diversity of analytical and methodological approaches.
