The article analyzed the design of the gear coupling, as a result of which it was found that the hub teeth are less durable than the cage teeth. Therefore, the strength of the teeth of the sleeve determines the strength of the entire gear connection and the device as a whole. Based on the analysis performed, the features of the calculation of barrel-shaped teeth for strength were considered and the total safety factor of the gear coupling was determined.
