Abstract
In this article we deal with the results of cross-cultural research among students' representatives in 27 higher education institutions of the countries of SCO about importance of qualities of the personality for achieving professionalism at work. For the first time similarities and distinctions in an image of the expert - the professional in the opinions of the third year students in four countries are empirically established.
