The article is devoted to studying the Internet genre “rhymes-poroshki” from the point of view of precedent units functioning in its structure, which play a decisive role in the texts of the genre. In the course of studying rhymes-poroshki in terms of the conception of linguistic game, the authors identify the following methods of the associative transformation of precedent units: reducing their cultural meaning by introducing new components into the composition, rethinking of one of the components using literalization, development of a new precedent situation entering into relations of contamination with the given one, as well as poetic stylization. In all the cases, associative transformations are aimed at the profanation of original precedent meanings, which is associated with “folk laughing culture” that is the basis of the Internet folklore genre.
