This paper concerns applications of CAD modeling and system approach in mechatronical engineering with use of Siemens PLM software. A methodology for designing mechatronic systems in the clouds has been developed as a novel information technology for managing the design process and data exchange. An electronic model of a robot manipulator for loading blanks weighing up to 1 kg into the working space of a milling machine with numerical program control is created. The structure of a multidisciplinary project based on the example of the robotic manipulator has been constructed, starting from the initial stages of preliminary design and analysis of kinematic schemes. The integrated multidisciplinary design includes different aspects of mechanical, electrical and software engineering.
