Abstract

Nanopowder of magnetite before and after sorption on it of hexavalent chrome from aqueous solution was studied by methods of X-ray analysis and electron microscopy. Obtained results testify that at sorption (chemisorption) of chrome(VI) by magnetite the formation of new phase in the form of compound body of chrome and iron occurs not in the volume of solution or onto surface of magnetite but in its thin surface layer.
