The change in the state of the polished surface of optical glasses of STK19 and OF4 brands by ellipsometry, IR spectroscopy, and measuring the roughness of samples under the environment influence is investigated. It is shown that the surface state is changed immediately after the polishing procedure and is not changed during the processing period. The change in temperature and humidity leads to a further change in the surface state. Treatment of optical glass surface in GMDS vapor prevents glass corrosion and does not allow the increase in roughness.
