Resumen

Subject. In the delivery of multidimensional dental care, when examining a patient, dental practitioners tend to ignore their psychological readiness for long-term stomatologic treatment and neglect the patient's psychological traits and development of motivating factors for both the patient and the dental practitioner in the process of multidimensional dental treatment. Delivering health care services most dental practitioners approach examination and treatment of a patient in a narrow specialized way and neglect to make psychological contact with a patient and other dental experts. Psychological problems of preparation of a patient and medical staff for multidimensional dental treatment in outpatient practice are a topical issue of dentistry and clinical psychology [3, 4]. Relevance. The relevance of this research stems from immaturity of medical and psychological issues of diagnosis and reduction of emotional reactions involving emotional tension, anxiety, and fear which patients and dental practitioners tend to feel in the process of rendering multidimensional dental care. The necessity of this research arose from clinical needs of dental practitioners. Objective. The research objective was to study psychological readiness of dental practitioners and patients for multidimensional dental treatment. Methodology. The study employed an observation method, questionnaire survey, and introspection of a number of mental and psychophysiological functions of medical staff in the context of professional environment, as well as psychophysiological state of patients in the process of receiving multidimensional dental care. Results. Conducting well-timed psychotherapeutic work with a surgeon dentist, a prosthodontist, an orthodontist, and a patient, using contemporary local anesthetics, equipment, and dental material provide successful multidimensional treatment of primary edentulism under municipal clinic conditions. Conclusions. When delivering multidimensional dental treatment in outpatient settings, it is necessary to consider not only the structure of doctors' professional readiness involving their psychological readiness, but also patient's psychophysiological readiness dependent on both objective (motivational, intellectual-operational and psychophysiological state) and subjective (self-assessment and self-regulation ability) factors.
