Precision pipes made of corrosion-resistant steel are used for manufacturing sources of ionizing radiation. The accuracy and stability of the pipe sizes provides the ability to assemble the source design with a remote tool under conditions of technological chambers. Ensuring production of radiation sources by precision domestic tubes is an actual task. The technology of producing pipes for radiation sources has been developed and mastered. The basis of technology is a method of pipes drawing on a mandrel. The novelty of the proposed method is the use of a tool made of a material with certain physical properties. To illustrate the possibilities of the new technology, the results of a statistical analysis of dimensions of the outer and inner diameters, as well as the roughness of the outer surface of the pipes, are presented. It is established that the new technology provides the required level of dimensional accuracy and surface quality of pipes for radiation sources.
