Resumen
The state of the printing activity in Russia at the turn of the XIX is considered. The need for target-oriented work aimed to increase mass-media profi tability and competitiveness is justifi ed. The object of the research is the policy of periodicals promotion, which was carried out in several directions: organization of «feedback» with the reader in forms of mass organizational work and methods of reader’s interest intensifi cation during the subscription campaign.
