Resumen

The article reveals the basic premises of the concept of nonlinear development of higher education in Russia. The comparison of linear and nonlinear models of higher education is used as the main methodological principle of the conception. It is proved that linear model does not have any prospects, and virtually it can be a dead end in terms of its implementation in higher education system of Russia. In the second part of the article the differentiation criteria features of nonlinear and linear models of higher education are given. The third part of the article is devoted to identifying specific features of nonlinear model of higher education in the region, the Urals Federal District.
