Resumen

The article is devoted to review and analysis of the main features of the motivational sphere of the senior preschool children that must be considered when designing the English lessons with the aim of improving cognitive motivation. Various approaches to the definition and essence of the concepts “motivation”, “learning motivation”, “motive”, and formulates the main conditions for effective development of cognitive motivation are considered in this article. Effective techniques the author offers are: creating good emotional climate; comfortable learning areas organization; selection of effective pedagogical techniques taking into account the psychological characteristics and cognitive needs of each child; the use of reward systems; selection of fascinating subjects and the design of studies using techniques of pedagogical direction.
