The work is devoted to the study of the results of a sociopsychological survey of school bullying. The main purpose of the work is to highlight the symptoms of school bullying and search for the procedural component of bullying. Obviously, no bullying begins without a reason, but at the moment there is no unified system for detecting, preventing and dealing with bullying in Russian schools, which in extreme cases can lead to outcomes similar to May 11, 2021. The materials of the study obtained on a sample of students of schools and institutions of secondary vocational education in the Sverdlovsk region (N = 1762) are presented. The results demonstrate языке the prevalence of the bullying phenomenon in schools and show that bullying is a process aimed at creating a hierarchy. It begins with the definition of “leader” and “outsider”, and then introduces others into the created system. At the same time, 35.5 % of respondents faced harassment at school as “victims”, 15.7 % became “bullies”, 11.5 % of respondents joined the already organized harassment and 42 % became “witnesses”. Moreover, 33 % of respondents have observed ridicule from a teacher at least once in their lives, while only 10.8 % witnessed teachers urging students to refuse to interact with someone. “Bullies” initiate bullying at school, guided by their own dislike of the “victim” or accuse the “victim” of victim behavior. It was also demonstrated that the main strategy of “victims” and “witnesses” is inaction, while “bullies” justify their behavior by personal hostility to the “victim” or its victimization.
