The paper presents the result of a study of the strategic guidelines of the educational and scientific activities of the Graduate School of Economics and Management (GSEM) in the structure of the Ural Federation University (UrFU). The рареr considers the field of the educational process` modernization, infrastructure, development of human resources and the formation of a high-quality students` contingent. Promising trends that determine the competitiveness of modern universities are described. It is noted that the key areas of university development are: diversification and internationalization of scientific and educational activities; collaboration with employers and key partners; project-oriented and interdisciplinary educational programs; strengthening the positions of the master's degree and research. The importance of interaction with employers in the implementation of master's programs and products of additional professional education is being updated, the volume of research and consulting, income from business education is increasing. The recognized international university rankings THE Business&Economics and QS Business&Management serve as long-term benchmarks for the university. The conclusion is formulated about the projected growth of the institute's income, an increase in the number of scientific publications and a strengthening of positions in the research field. The indicators given in the paper contribute to the achievement of the strategic development goals of GSEM UrFU.
