ХАРАКТЕРИСТИКА МЕТАЛЛУРГИЧЕСКОГО ПРОМЫШЛЕННОГО КЛАСТЕРА В КАЧЕСТВЕ ОБЪЕКТА ЭКОНОМИЧЕСКОГО ИССЛЕДОВАНИЯ

Purpose: the main goal put by the authors as the basis of the study is to formulate and characterize the features of an integrated production unit - the metallurgical industrial cluster, with the subsequent presentation of the definition of this term. Discussion: the clustering of production sites is a modern practice implemented by large, metallurgical companies. Moreover, in order to study this kind of complex industrial structures, it will be methodologically incorrect to assess each individual decomposed unit. Results: in the course of preparing the material, in order to achieve the stated goal, the authors set and successively solved the following tasks: 1. The Russian ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy market is briefly characterized. 2. Based on the classification features formulated by the author: territorial attribute; role attribute; product tag; macroeconomic attribute; other, existing approaches to the definition of the term “cluster” / “industrial cluster” are systematized. 3. Based on the author’s requirements for classifying corporate associations as metallurgical industrial clusters, which is an adaptation of existing methods, as well as taking into account the organizational and operational features of metallurgical holdings, the author formulated and disclosed the definition of the term “metallurgical industrial cluster”. 4. It is concluded that it is possible to consider the metallurgical industrial cluster as an independent object of economic research and administrative management.
