I. Gruzdeva. The article considers the technological features of oxygen-containing copper wire rod production by continuous casting and rolling method. It is shown that the gas defects caused on the surface of continuous cast bar influence the quality of copper rod. The content of hydrogen and oxygen in the cast samples taken from the molten copper along casting tract at different process parameters was determined. The basic sources of copper melt gasing and possible ways of their elimination was established.
