The article studies the defl ationary conception of the fact and the status of reality in defl ationism. It considers the general defi nition of defl ationary theories of truth and the conception of linguistic meaning. The author gives a general defi nition of defl ationism, analyzes the defl ationary conception of the linguistic meaning, studies the defl ationary notion of the fact and the status of the real in defl ationism, gives some common criticisms against the defl ationary conception of the fact, but also evaluates the supposed consequences of this view for metaphysics in general. In conclusion, the author gives his point of view on whether defl ationism should be considered as an antirealistic position, arguing that defl ationism denies the fact that the truth has an underlying metaphysical nature, and at the same time it is opposed to realism and anti-realism.
