Resumo
The author analyzes the impact of the political activity of municipal corporations, self-managed by the Magdeburg law to the Russian military and administrative presence and the integration of «Little Russia» in 1654-1669. The author shows that, on the one hand, the political activity of the municipal corporations contributed to the strengthening of tsar power and, consequently, the destruction of the Cossack state project. On the other hand, as a result of their actions, to obtain the largest possible number of tax benefits, had led to a narrowing of the Russian presence in the region (after 1668) and the refusal of the tax reform (until 1722).
