A method of calculating the level of «social mood» as a way to determine the success of urban redevelopment projects is proposed. The problem of development of territories, most of which are industrial inefficiently used zones, is explained. As a rule, redevelopment projects are mainly aimed at creating new public points of attraction and organizing social and cultural activities, which determines the key opinion and direct assessment of the population of these projects. This is the relevance and practical importance of calculating the level of «social mood» of urban residents. The method of calculation of this indicator was determined after several preliminary actions. First of all, the analysis of definitions of «social mood» was made and its features were highlighted. Then the main indicators of the level of «social mood» were identified, such as happiness, control, money, nature, freedom. Next, a practical method was proposed for calculating the level of «social mood» (as a summary of the significant components of «social mood»). As a result, the results are not complex calculations can determine the degree of success of the redevelopment project. An example of calculations for the Green river Park project is presented. In conclusion, it is concluded that successful redevelopment projects can increase the level of «social mood» and create preconditions for further socio-economic development of the territories under consideration. The study presents the importance of taking into account the opinion of the population as an important component of assessing the concept of development projects and transformation of territories. So residents will be able to express their wishes and ideas, which, of course, will raise the level of social mood and life of the population.
