The purpose of this work was to study the nature of the relationship between the subjective feeling of loneliness and personal anxiety in a student sample. The object of the study was a subjective feeling of loneliness and personal anxiety. The subject of the research was the relationship between the subjective feeling of loneliness and personal anxiety in students. This work consists of an introduction, two theoretical chapters, an empirical chapter, a conclusion, a bibliography and annexes, including forms and descriptions of the scales used. The introduction reveals the relevance of the research problem, the study of the problem, sets the goal and objectives of the research, defines the object and subject of the research, formulates the research hypothesis, stating that there is a relationship between indicators of personal anxiety and subjective feeling of loneliness. The first chapter is devoted to the consideration of the phenomenon of loneliness, the existing approaches to its study. The typology of this phenomenon is considered. The existing personal correlates of loneliness were also analyzed, among which there is personal anxiety, which is of particular attention for this work. The problems of loneliness in the student environment were considered. The second chapter examined the phenomenon of anxiety, approaches to its study and views on the causes of its occurrence. Particular attention was paid to the differentiation of situational anxiety and personal anxiety as the studied correlate of loneliness. The third chapter is the empirical part of the study. It contains a description of the organization and methods of the study, a description of the methods used: UСLA Loneliness scale V. Russell, L. Peplo, M. Ferguson; Differential questionnaire of feelings of loneliness E.N. Osin and D.A. Leontiev (MILE) and the Spielberger-Khanin State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Also in this chapter, the results of an empirical study were presented, 112 students aged 16 to 24 years (58 women and 54 men) participated. The results of correlation and comparative analyzes are also presented, which confirmed the hypothesis of the study for loneliness in general, as well as for its individual indicators. In the conclusion, the results of the theoretical and empirical parts of the work are summarized, as well as conclusions on the confirmed hypothesis, the practical significance of the study and the prospects for further research of this problem are described.
