Аннотация

The turn of the XX-XXI cc. was marked by the emergence of the "memorial paradigm", within which images of the past act as interpretive models that allow an individual and a social group to navigate in situations of the present. The researchers focused on the relationship between memory and identity, historical consciousness and "historical politics". The task is to include in the actual perspective of the "history of memory" specific studies of the historical and political culture of modern times. From this position, the author reflects on a new book by the well-known Russian historian and English scholar Marina Aizenshtat, dedicated to the role of myths and knowledge about the past in the political culture of Britain in the second half of the 18th century.
