The paper analyzes the phenomenon of public associations of Chinese artists, their genesis, development, as well as aesthetic concepts generated in this environment. The emergence of associations of painters in the Republic of China was the result of a combination of various factors related to the social, political, economic spheres, as well as associated with the integration of Chinese and Western art. The associations are the result of the transformation of Chinese society during the period of the Republic. The increase in their number and development features testify to the metamorphosis in the traditional painting of China and the accumulation of associations in itself of the rich historical and cultural information of the country. The associations were the result of a spiritual breakthrough in society, a consequence of the democratization of Chinese culture and other spheres, the product of a new stage in the development. Exploring the unique phenomenon of the association of artists during the Republic of China is essential for a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture and the development of modern culture.
