Nowadays, the energy intensity of Russia’s GDP is approximately 2.5-3.5 times higher than that in economically developed countries. The research of the applied management measures and the world experience showed that in order to improve the energy efficiency of the economy, Russia should stimulate the economic interest of subjects of these relations as well as improve administrative management. The author of the paper reveals barriers hindering the formation of economic interest. The improvement of economic management methods due to the formation of stable market relations and economic motivation of the parties concerned will help to spur the energy saving pace in the Russian Federation.
