The scientific article examines the contents of the influence of external and internal factors on the cost of a banks capital in a changing banking environment. Banks finance loans with capital provided by lenders, investors, central banks and other credit institutions. The cost of a banks capital can be influenced by various factors, such as decisions in the field of fiscal policy, fluctuations in the foreign exchange market and changes in the banks default ratio. When costs increase, banks adjust their underwriting rates, and consumer and business loans become more expensive. When capital expenditures fall, the opposite happens, although a rapid drop in capital expenditures may eventually lead to inflation as the money supply exceeds demand.
